Richard James (Ricky) Slocum, Jr

Richard James (Ricky) Slocum, Jr, died April 11 at home in Wentworth, N.H. He was 41 years old.

He lived in Newtown for many years and relocated to New Hampshire with his family a year ago and was enjoying his life in Wentworth. He loved his home and enjoyed watching little league baseball and tennis. He developed a keen interest in computers, loved 70s and 80s music, enjoyed writing, and had an extensive and impressive comic book collection started over ten years ago.

Born in Danbury on April 7, 1964, to Richard and Phyllis (Witter) Slocum, he grew up in the Danbury/Newtown area, and graduated from New Milford High School.

He is survived by his parents, Richard and Phyllis Slocum, a brother Kenneth Slocum and his wife, Bonni, from Rhode Island; a sister, Nina M. Slocum of Connecticut; maternal grandmother, Genevieve Barnard Witter, Wentworth, N.H.; an uncle, Phillip K. Witter; niece and nephew, Hillary and Dustin Slocum; and cousins, Julie and Daniel Lyford and David P. Witter.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 17, at 1 pm at the Wentworth Congregational Church with Rev Mel Hansen officiating.
