Mr and Mrs Robert Gary Michael, Jr

Kelley McCryne Reda, daughter of Kathie and Lou Reda of Newtown, and Robert Gary Michael, Jr, son of Karen Michael and the late Robert Michael, Sr, Sandy Hook, were joined in holy matrimony on May 29, 2004 at Newtown Congregational Church. The Rev Steve Gordon officiated.

The bride is a 1995 graduate of Newtown High School. She is employed at Charter Communications as a workforce administration coordinator. The groom also is a graduate of Newtown High School, Class of 1991. He is a chef at Ashlar of Newtown.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a strapless gown with vine beading. A full-length, long-sleeved beaded jacket completed her ensemble. She carried a bouquet of red tulips.

Meagan Reda of New Haven served as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Erica Canfield, Newtown, Rebekan Stanley, Danbury, and Yvonne Burke, Watertown. Samantha Canfield, Newtown, was junior bridesmaid.

The attendants wore gowns of apple red with red beading, high necklines and mini-trains. They carried white and red tulips wrapped in cloth.

Best man was Rick Monckton of Newtown. Ushers were Evan Tobin and Casey Michael of Newtown, and Mark Stanley of Danbury.

A reception honoring the couple was held at Stony Hill Inn, Bethel, after the ceremony.

Following a wedding trip to Molokai, Hawaii, the couple resides on Hattertown Road in Newtown.
