Celebrating Life Over 40
Celebrating Life Over 40
Like the yin and the yang, defiance and Taoism combine to create the perfect balance in the perspective on life, love and change defined in The Tao of The Defiant Woman, a new book by Newtown resident C.J. Golden.
Ms Golden will be at C.H. Booth Library this weekend to celebrate the release of her book. She will be signing copies of The Tao of The Defiant Woman on Sunday, April 17. The celebration will run from 2 to 5 pm. Partial proceeds from the bookâs sale on Sunday will be donated to the library.
The Tao of The Defiant Woman (Eronel Publishing; March 1, 2005, hardcover $19.95, 132 pages), says its author, explains how women â of most ages, not just those over age 40 â can attain true happiness by embracing a philosophy of Taoist acceptance coupled with a dash of healthy defiance.
The book is the result of countless interviews, seminars, and workshops with hundreds of women. It is filled with stories about women, in large part told around the five principles of The Tao of The Defiant Woman. It offers suggestions on what should be accepted and what can be rebelled against, Taogirl dos and donâts, and tips for planning a Taogirl gathering.
Among the five principles Ms Golden lays out in her book is âThe defiant woman recognizes that her body is changing and she is thankful that it continues to work as well as it does.â
Ms Golden wants women to accept that life has ups and downs, and that they should embrace both.
