Catherine S. Zdzieba
Catherine S. Zdzieba, 89, of Danbury, formerly of Brookfield, beloved wife of Kenneth Zdzieba, died at Filosa Convalescent Center on April 10.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Marie âBuniâ Kovacs, of Newtown; a son, Richard F. Evans of Desert Hills, Ariz.; and two brothers, Thomas Stevens of Old Saybrook and Dr William Stevens of Weston; as well as six grandchildren, Connie Brescia of Bethel, Paul Kovacs, Jr, of Danbury, Christopher Kovacs of Haywood, Calif., Linda Hogan of Peoria, Ariz., Richard F. Evans of Glendale, Ariz., Veronica Mickkelson of Desert Hills, Ariz.; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her first husband, C. Floyd Evans, and a brother, Dr John Stevens.
Mrs Zdzieba was born in Danbury, August 28, 1915, the daughter of the late Thomas and Katherine (Crotty) Stevens. She was a 1933 graduate of Danbury High School and had worked for many years for the former Davis & Geck Company of Danbury, where she retired as the supervisor of physical testing. She was also a past member of St Peter Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St Peter Church on April 14. Burial was in St Peter Cemetery.
