To the Editor:

The Wharton Equity Partners proposal for a MEGA Warehouse/Tractor Trailer HUB at Exit 9 is an assault on our Town.

Invasive on so many levels from the air we breathe to the everyday flow and “feel” of our beautiful Newtown Community.

We will all, no matter the neighborhood we live in, experience the mounting traffic down Main Street, Church Hill Road, through Sandy Hook and points beyond.

Diesel trucks emit pollutants such Nitrogen Oxide (NOx). The EPA classifies (NOx) as a poisonous, highly reactive gas that interacts with volatile organic compounds that produce ozone better known as smog.

Can anyone imagine our iconic Flagpole wrapped in a cloak of grayish smog and black diesel emissions?!!!

Despite the fact that the proposed development is on a commercially zoned parcel, plunking this ill-fitting business in the midst of residential neighborhoods in our Newtown is totally unreasonable and unacceptable.

Please come voice your objections at the Zoning hearing on May 5.

Not one of us wants this Mega monster as a neighbor.
