On the walls of the main hallway at Newtown Municipal Center more than 300 photographs by Rhonda and Chane Cullens were on view by the afternoon of April 8 for the opening reception of "Capturing Newtown and Our World."
The photography exhibit will remain on view, with most images available for purchase, weekdays through April 30.
Refreshments and snacks were served for the reception. Ms Cullens explained that originally 250 photographs were set to be put on view for the exhibit, but the number expanded by the time the reception opened.
Ms Cullens also said she hopes people visiting the exhibit will experience a "wow factor," from both the extensive size of the display and from the range of photographs chosen for the exhibit.
Photographs on display show subjects from both Newtown, the couple's hometown, and from around the world. Ms Cullens explained a number of the photographs were taken during their trips around the world. While preparing for the exhibit, she said she had fun reliving those memories.
"Capturing Newtown and Our World" will be on view at Municipal Center, 3 Primrose Street, until April 30. Municipal Center hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm.
