Mardi Gras In May

To the Editor:

On May 19 at Newtown High School there will be a Mardi Gras Party from midnight to 5 am. All junior and senior students are encouraged to attend. There is no charge; that’s right, costs you nothing to come. By now you have probably heard about the car that will be given away; it’s true, a car, to one of the students that attend the party.

There will also be lots of food and fun, arcade games, a DJ, and hopefully some local bands. There will be prizes to be given out as well. We even have use of the auditorium for movies if you just want to sit back and relax. Perhaps a ping-pong or 4-Square tournament is more to your liking. So now is the time to talk it up. After all, what makes a party great… friends, food, and fun stuff to do; this year’s Mardi Gras Party has it all. Good attendance makes a good party; make the decision now to attend and get your whole group to join you. If you are a teacher, an administrator, or just someone who works in the school, we ask that you support this night and encourage the students to gather up their friends and come to the party at the school. Stay safe, stay off the road, and come to the Mardi Gras Party to keep the night going, or if you aren’t attending the prom, come to start your night right!
