Emil Lindquist

True Family Man Will Be Deeply Missed

Emil “Link” Lindquist, 90, a longtime Fairfield resident, died April 8.

Born June 5, 1915, Mr Lindquist was a US Coast Guard World War II veteran, an accomplished carpenter, and a true family man.

He will be deeply missed by three loving sons, Carl Lindquist and granddaughters Allison and Jaime, all of Sandy Hook, Gary Lindquist and his wife, Susan, and granddaughters, Emily and Jill, all of Fairfield, and with whom he has lived with for the past 28 years, and David Lindquist and his wife, Alisa, and granddaughters, Kris and Megan, of Trumbull; and granddaughter, Kelli Giammarco, her husband, Mike, and great-grandsons, Ryan and Aiden. He will also be remembered by his former wife, Joan Lindquist; his dear friend, Marge Komenda; several nieces and nephews; and close family friends whose lives he had touched. His parents, Hjalmer and Esther Lindquist; his sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Jack Gerster; and his daughter-in-law, Barbara Lindquist, predeceased him.

A graveside service was held at the Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye, N.Y., on April 11. Donations may be made in his memory to Swim Across the Sound, c/o St Vincent’s Hospital, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport CT 06606.

 Shaughnessey-Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road, Fairfield, was entrusted with the arrangements.
