Drug Arrest

About 1:49 am April 7, police spotted motorist Jason Arcamone, 31, of Bethel driving a vehicle northward on South Main Street that had no front marker plate on it, so they stopped Arcamone to investigate.

Police said the odor of marijuana emanated from the vehicle, after which they conducted a search. Police charged Arcamone with driving under the influence, possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to display a front marker plate, and failure to renew a vehicle registration.

After arrest processing, Arcamone posted $100 bail and was released for April 27 arraignment in Danbury Superior Court.

Moving Violations

Police report that at about 7 am on April 7, they observed a Buick traveling westward on Wasserman Way without a front marker plate and with a loosely attached rear marker plate, so they stopped motorist Colleen Caruso, 38, of Danbury to investigate.

Police charged Caruso with failure to display a front marker plate, misuse of a marker plate, driving while under suspension, and driving an unregistered vehicle.

Caruso posted $100 bail and was released for an April 27 court appearance.

Buick Accident

Motorist Eugene Norton, 52, of Jacksonville, Fla., was driving a 2000 Buick sedan northward on South Main Street about 11:12 pm April 7, when the vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole, police said.

Eugene Norton and Buick passenger Wesley Norton, no age or address given, were transported to Danbury Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said. Firefighters and ambulance volunteers went to the accident. The crash is under investigation.

Black Bridge

Trucker Alexix Rios, 32, of Houston, Texas, who was driving a 2000 Freightliner delivery truck about 4:15 pm April 1, attempted to turn around near 44 Black Bridge Road, police said.

Rios drove over some curbing and got stuck, damaging a lawn at 44 Black Bridge Road, police said. There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Rios for making a restricted turn.

Church Hill Crash

About 2 pm March 30, motorist Joseph Bedlovies, , 63, of Milford, who was driving a 1990 Honda Civic sedan eastward on Church Hill Road, struck the rear end of an eastbound 2006 Dodge pickup truck driven by David Coehlo, 52, of Danbury, police report

There were no injuries. Bedlovies received a written warning for following too closely.

Lexus Sedan

Motorist Scott Kellerman, 32, of Head O’ Meadow Road, who was driving a 2006 Lexus sedan southward on Head O’ Meadow Road about 12:15 am March 29, failed to negotiate a curve, went off the right side of the road, hit a tree, and then reentered the roadway, police report.

Ambulance volunteers transported Kellerman to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries. Police said they took no enforcement.

South Main Mishap

Police report a two-vehicle accident about 3:30 pm March 27 near 5 South Main Street.

Northbound motorist Amy Cameron, 41, of Huntingtown Road stopped her vehicle in traffic, police said. Northbound motorist Rosario Patino, 37, of Danbury then struck Cameron’s vehicle from behind, police said.

There were no injuries. Police issued Patino an infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart and for driving without a license.

Berkshire Road

About 9:30 am April 9, motorist Peter Dutkanicz, 67, of Shelton was driving westward near 51 Berkshire Road, as motorist Eric Hyde, 17, of Danbury was driving eastward there, police said.

Hyde attempted to make a turn into a driveway and collided with Dutkanicz, police said.

Hyde, Peter Dutkanicz and passenger Anna Dutkanicz, 59, of Shelton all were transported to Danbury Hospital for treatment, police said.

Hyde received an infraction ticket for making a restricted turn, police said.

Ball On Street

While traveling southward on Peck’s Lane about 10 am March 30, motorist Edward Pressmar, 59, of Jeremiah Road, who was driving a 2000 Buick sedan, saw a ball roll out onto the street, so he stopped, police said. Southbound motorist Virginia Maiocco-Cabeleira, 43, of Turkey Hill Road, who was driving a 1994 Mitsubishi sedan behind the Buick, then attempted to stop, but struck the rear end of the Buick, police said.

Pressmar was transported to Danbury Hospital, police said. Maiocco-Cabeleira received an infraction ticket for following too closely, police said.

I-84 MVA

State police report that motorist Nancy Savarese, 51, of 3 Martin Street was driving a 2005 Subaru Impreza near Exit 10 of eastbound Interstate 84 about 5:30 pm April 6, when the Subaru veered and struck an unidentified tractor-trailer truck, and then hit some guardrailing. Savarese was not injured. State police said Savarese violated a multiple-lane highway regulation.

 

Car Vs Truck

State police report a low-speed two-vehicle accident on the Exit 11 off-ramp of Interstate 84 about 8:50 am April 5.

The accident involved motorist Joseph E. Pinette, 67, of Cheshire, who was driving a 2002 International truck, and motorist William R. Bircher, 62, of Harwinton, who was driving a 1998 Honda Civic, state police said. State police said they issued Bircher an infraction ticket.

 

MV Charge

Police said they spotted motorist David Kaza, 24, of 4 Clearview Drive driving on South Main Street on April 10 and stopped him to investigate. Police charged Kaza with driving while under suspension. After posting $500 bail, police released Kaza for an upcoming appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

Truck Rollover

About 7 pm April 10, motorist Andrew Mentch, 16, of Bethel was driving a 1994 Chevrolet truck on a grassy island located in a turnaround circle on the dead-end Covered Bridge Road in Hawleyville, police said.

When attempting to make a turn, the truck rolled over onto its roof, police said. Mentch was not injured. Police issued Mentch an infraction ticket for making an unsafe movement in a motor vehicle.

Van Vs Truck

Police report a two-vehicle collision at the Exit 9 ramps of westbound Interstate 84 in Hawleyville about 10 am April 7.

The accident occurred while motorist Gabriel Negrea, 54, of Farmington, who was driving a 1999 Ford van, was exiting the off-ramp, and motorist Richard Dardia, 63, of New Fairfield, who was driving a 2001 Ford commercial truck, was entering the adjacent on-ramp, police said. The ramps intersect with Hawleyville Road. There were no injuries. Police issued Negrea a stop sign violation.

Main Street MVA

Motorist Janet Brinkman, 80, of Grand Place, who was driving a 1996 Honda sedan southward on Main Street about 3 pm April 7, lost control of the vehicle and went off the southbound road shoulder, striking some curbing and a small tree at the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps property, police said.

There were no injuries. Police issued Brinkman a written warning for making a restricted turn.

 

DUI Crash

About 10 pm April 11, motorist Richard Boritz, 56, of 30 Still Hill Road, who was driving a 2003 Subaru sedan southward on South Main Street, stopped at a red traffic signal near the entrance to Sand Hill Plaza, police said.

Boritz was then struck from behind by southbound motorist Sharon Engstrom, 56, of Monroe, who was driving a 2002 Subaru station wagon, police said. There were no injuries.

Police charged Engstrom with driving under the influence and with traveling an unreasonable distance apart. Police released Engstrom on $100 bail for an April 25 court appearance.

DUI Arrest

Police report that motorist Devin Lee Senn, 25, of Stamford was seen driving a 1998 BMW 528-I sedan erratically eastward on Mile Hill Road about 2 am April 13, so they pulled him over to investigate.

After he performed sobriety tests, police charged Senn with driving under the influence, traveling unreasonably fast, and failure to drive on a direct course.

Following arrest processing, police released Senn on $100 bail for an upcoming arraignment in Danbury Superior Court.

DUI Warrant

After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, John O’Brien, 47, of 316 Great Quarter Road turned himself over to them at the police station on April 12 and was charged with driving under the influence.

Police said the arrest stems from a motor vehicle accident that occurred during wintry conditions on January 4 on Route 34, near Zoar Road. At that time, O’Brien was driving a motorcycle that hit a guardrail, ejecting O’Brien into a wooded area alongside the road. O’Brien was injured in that accident.

After arrest processing, police released O’Brien on $500 bail for an April 27 court appearance.

DUI Charge

Police report they arrested motorist Sheila Donahue, 47, of Redding on April 12, following a motor vehicle accident, charging her with driving under the influence, following too closely, failure to carry a license, and failure to carry a vehicle registration. Details on the accident were not available from police on the morning of April 13.

Police released Donahue on $100 bail for an April 27 court appearance.

Minivan Hits Pole

Motorist Christopher Elias, 16, of 11 Pebble Road was driving a 1998 Dodge Caravan northward on South Main Street about 6 pm April 11, when he took his eyes off the road and attempted to adjust the vehicle’s radio, but drifted to the right and struck some curbing and a utility pole, police said.

Elias was not injured. Police issued him a written warning for making a restricted turn.
