The Garden Club of Newtown will host a program on Tuesday, April 23, at 1 pm, at C. H. Booth Library by Kate Pratt of the Audubon Center at Bent of the River in Southbury.

The Center is a 700-acre preserve located off South Britain Road, and open year-round. The Center’s mission is to conserve land and promote biodiversity.

In her talk, “Protecting Connecticut Birds,” Pratt will focus on birds that are native to Connecticut and what citizens can do to protect them.

Pratt is an educator and volunteer coordinator who plans the Center’s events and does communications for them. She handles their social media, fundraising, monitors the bluebird boxes, and is also part of the bird banding team.

The program will be in the lower meeting room of the library, at 25 Main Street. It will begin at 1 pm.

There is no charge, and all are welcome.
