To the Editor:

I have served as Selectman for almost six years. I have decided it is time to take a break after many years of service having previously served on Parks & Recreation Commission, Newtown Community Center Advisory Board and Board of Assessment Appeals.

Accordingly, I have chosen not to seek re-election for Selectman and also decided not to run for First Selectman.

When Dan Rosenthal and I sat down together back in early 2017 to talk about running for First Selectman and Selectman, I knew we would make a good team. We have similar standards and principles.

We share a love for Newtown. Newtown has been fortunate to have Dan as First Selectman for three terms and I was also fortunate to serve right along with him.

It was also a pleasure to serve with Jeff Capeci and then Ed Schierloh. We always worked together for the best results for our community. I am very proud of our accomplishments.

For the remainder of my term, I will continue to work hard for Newtown. Serving my community has been an honor and a privilege. Thank you.
