The 47th Annual Rooster Run/Walk is a go. The race, held by Newtown Parks & Recreation, will have a new 5K certified course and the option of a 10K route, along with a 100-yard Little Chicks Dash for children ages 3-8. Participants will head for the starting line on Saturday, June 5, on Keating Farms Avenue in Fairfield Hills.

Register by noon on June 4 for $30 for the 5K and 10K, and $10 for the Little Chicks Dash; proceeds will benefit the Newtown Scholarship Association. Prices will increase after noon, and registration will close on June 5 at 7:30 am. All registration will be done online.

The racers will be lined up 45 at a time to comply with current CDC guidelines. The first racers will start at 8 am, with a new wave every 15 minutes. Participants will be notified of their wave and time. Markers on the ground will indicate where to stand to keep distance.
