Colorful, inviting quilts, the tools to make them and their vocabulary is the focus of an exhibit at C.H. Booth Library this month.

The recently opened The Quilt Shop by Lois, at 12 Queen Street in Newtown, has supplied some of the tools used by its owner and other quilters, along with samples of quilts, quilt blocks, tables runners, hanging art, and pot holders.

The collection is on view in the showcase outside the children's department at library.

Calling her new store a "great adventure," owner Lois Mitchell says her goal is to "provide an environment where quilters, and other creative souls, can find inspiration learn new or improve upon old techniques and skills and just enjoy time with other quilters."

"The Joy of Quilting" is on view through the end of April during regular library hours: Monday through Thursday, 9:30 am-8 pm; Friday, 11 am-5 pm; and Saturday, 9:30 am-5 pm. The library, at 25 Main Street, can be reached for additional information at 203-426-4533.
