Why Study

Native Plants?

NEW HAVEN — On Monday, April 16, the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History, in collaboration with the New England Wild Flower Society (NEWFS), will present a free program on native plants.

“Why Study Native Plants?” is an illustrated talk by Greg Lowenberg, NEWFS education director, featuring fascinating stories about native plants, a description of the Society’s efforts to conserve native flora, and a discussion of why it is important to “learn the wildflowers.” A certificate of native plant studies will also be described.

The program, to be held in the Peabody auditorium at 7 pm, will include an orientation to all the Adult Botanical Programs offered by the Museum and NEWFS.

Registration is requested by calling 203-432-3775. The museum is at 170 Whitney Avenue.
