Warrant
After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Ruben Aparicio, 40, of 31 Little Brook Lane came to the police station on the morning of April 5, and was charged with failure to have automotive insurance, police report.
Police said the charge stems from a February 27 motor vehicle accident in which Aparicio was involved.
After posting $1,000 bail, Aparicio was released from custody for an April 19 appearance in Danbury Superior Court, police said.
Two Youths Charged
In response to a complaint, police went to Farm Meadow Road, off Poverty Hollow Road, late on the night of April 6 and found that a vehicle was parked on the road there.
Police said they spotted a container of beer in plain sight inside the vehicle, after which they had their German shepherd search the vehicle for drugs.
Police said a passenger in the vehicle was in possession of marijuana. Police said they charged that male passenger with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana and with possession of alcohol by a minor.
Also, the driver of the vehicle was charged with possession of alcohol by a minor and with possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle by a minor, police said.
Because both youths are under age 18, their identities are shielded from disclosure by state law.
Brushy Hill Road
While traveling northward near 151 Brushy Hill Road about 8:25 pm April 7, motorist Werner Schulz, 78, of 59 Hundred Acres Road, who was driving a 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora sedan, attempted to drive around some vehicles that were parked alongside the road, but collided with a parked 1998 Mazda 626 sedan which is owned by Georgia Ellis of East Hampton, N.Y., police said.
There were no injuries. Police said Schulz received an infraction ticket for making a restricted turn, and Ellis received a written warning for improper parking.
DUI Arrest
About 5:37 am April 7, police responded to a motor vehicle accident that occurred along Button Shop Road.
Police said they found that motorist Erik Bette, 23, of Southbury was the driver of a vehicle that had become stuck atop a stone wall at 39 Button Shop Road. After investigating, police charged Bette with driving under the influence and with making a restricted turn.
Following processing, police released Bette on $100 bail for an April 24 court appearance.
Pontiac Vs Mazda
About 8:50 am on April 8, motorist Pasquale A. Pepe, Jr, 54, of 14 Andras Road, who was driving a 2000 Mazda B-3000 pickup truck eastward on Church Hill Road, slowed to make a left turn into a gas station at 47 Church Hill Road, police said.
Eastbound motorist Paula Farias, 22, of 55 Sugar Street, who was driving a 1993 Pontiac Grand Am coupe, then struck the Mazda from behind, police said.
There were no injuries. Farias received a verbal warning for following too closely. Pepe was verbally warned for failure to have functioning brake lamps.
Moving Violations
State police report that they stopped motorist Shan Thompson, 36, of Waterbury for driving 80 miles per hour in a 65-mph zone on eastbound Interstate 84, near Exit 10, at about 12:27 am April 9.
After investigating, state police charged Thompson with speeding and with driving while under suspension. Thompsonâs driverâs license has been suspended since March 2003, state police said.
After posting $500 bail, state police released Thompson for an April 23 court appearance.
Honda Into Barrier
About 5:50 am April 7, motorist Anthony Parkinson, 19, of Windsor, who was driving a 1994 Honda Civic westward on Interstate 84, near Exit 10, fell asleep at the wheel, lost control of the auto and then collided with a highway barrier, state police said.
Parkinson was not injured. State police issued Parkinson a moving violation.
DUI Charge
Police report that motorist Robin Morgan, 44, of 56 Dodgingtown Road was driving a 1999 Toyota Corolla sedan westward on Meadow Brook Road about 12:12 am on April 11, when the vehicle struck a concrete bridge abutment on the right side of the road. That impact caused the auto to cross the road and then enter a ditch along the left side of the road, police said.Â
The heavily damaged auto then became disabled, police said. After investigating the accident, police charged Morgan with driving under the influence and with making a restricted turn.
After she posted $50 bail, police said they released Morgan for an April 26 court appearance.
BMW Vs Toyota
About 4:21 pm April 2, motorist Wendy Verga, 42, of 18 Sweetbriar Lane, who was driving a 2004 Toyota Sequoia sport-utility vehicle eastward near 42 Berkshire Road, stopped for traffic conditions, police said.
Eastbound motorist Adrian Dandrea, 40, of 54 Charter Ridge Road, who was driving a 1998 BMW 323 convertible, then struck the Toyota from behind, police said.
Each vehicle carried one child passenger. There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Dandrea for following too closely.
