Second Round Of Auditions Planned For Musicals At Richter
DANBURY âMusicals at Richter, Connecticutâs longest-running outdoor theater now in its 23rd season, will hold an additional call for male performers ages 16 and up on Saturday, April 14, from 1 to 3 pm, at West Side Childrenâs Center, 34 Wooster Heights. Anyone who was seen during the general auditions March 30 and April 1 does not need to attend this call.
For Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnickâs family favorite Fiddler on the Roof, director Donald Birely is seeking tenor men, between age 18-30, for the role of Perchik, the student revolutionary whoâs in love with Hodel.
For Cy Coleman, Betty Comden and Adolph Greenâs screwball comedy musical On the Twentieth Century, director Christopher Gladysz is seeking strong baritone actors (ages 35-50) with excellent comedic timing for the leading role of egomaniacal producer Oscar Jaffee. Four versatile men (age 16 and up) are also sought for featured singer/dancers roles in the ensemble.
For Rodgers and Hammersteinâs exuberant classic Oklahoma! Mr Birely is seeking baritone actors, ages 22-30 for Curly, the ranch hand who loves Laurey; tenor men (age 25-35) for Will Parker, Ado Annieâs suitor; and baritone men (age 25-40) for Jud Fry, the sullen loner obsessed with Laurey.
All those auditioning should bring a picture and resume if available, prepare two Broadway show tunes (up-tempo and ballad), and be ready to sing only their best 16 measures if necessary. An accompanist will be provided.
Those auditioning should be prepared to read from the script if asked. These positions are unpaid. Show descriptions and cast breakdowns can be found on the theaterâs website at MusicalsAtRichter.org.

Interested individuals are invited to call or e-mail the theater or indicate their interest at the auditions.
