Pete Oggeri (Wentworth Institute of Technology baseball) – Posted on the WIT athletic web site, “On a day where temperatures were more suited for football than baseball (first pitch temperature was 37 degrees), the Wentworth baseball team earned a split with Roger Williams. The Leopards took the first game by a 3-2 final in eight innings when freshman Pete Oggeri reached on an error with one out and stole second, third, and home with two outs to pull the Leopards to victory.” Through 15 games for the 5-10 Leopards, Oggeri was hitting .313 (15-of-48) with 12 runs scored, two doubles, two RBI, and 11 stolen bases in 12 attempts. Behind the dish, he also as 14 assists with a .971 fielding percentage.

Chris Body (Western New England College men’s lacrosse) – With wins over Nazareth (9-4), MIT (13-3), Eastern Connecticut (17-6), Norwich University (19-2) and Tufts (9-7) the Golden Bears improved to 8-0-0 on the season. Body has played in seven games, starting six, with a 7-0-0 record. In a little more than 359 minutes in the cage, he has allowed 33 goals (5.51 per game) while making 83 saves (.716 save percentage). Body was the NEILA Division III Player of the Week for the week ending March 28.

Carly Curran (University of Connecticut women’s lacrosse) – After opening the season at 5-1, the Lady Huskies dropped four of their next five games to fall to 6-5-0 overall. Their only win was a 17-12 division over Boston College. Curran, a freshman defender, has appeared in four games and has scooped one ground ball along the way.

Casey Kirch (Sacred Heart University men’s lacrosse) – With just one win in their last three games, the Pioneers have dropped to 2-5-0 on the season. Kirch, a co-captain, has appeared in all seven games and has notched a goal and an assist on six shots (four on the cage). Kirch has also scooped nine ground balls.

John Oliver (St. Mary’s College men’s lacrosse) – With three wins in their last five games, the Seahawks improved to 7-4-0. In an 11-4 win over York, Oliver notched a goal and two assists after notching an assist in an 8-5 loss to Mary Washington. In a 20-1 rout of Christopher Newport back on March 24, Oliver scored a goal and registered three assists. Through 11 games, Oliver has 12 goals and a team-high 11 assists with 25 ground balls.

Ryan Bigham (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute men’s lacrosse) – Bigham, a sophomore midfielder and graduate of Trinity Pawling, has scored a goal and notched two assists, with nine ground balls, for the 9-0-0 Red Hawks. As a freshman, Bigham appeared in 16 games and finished fifth on the team in scoring with 15 points (nine goals and six assists) and had 21 ground balls on the season.

Brian Sharnick (Brown University men’s lacrosse) – The Bears improved to 4-1 with wins over Bellarmine (9-8) and the University of Massachusetts (7-4). Sharnick had a ground ball in the win over Bellarmine and another in the win over UMass and has started all five games for the Bears.

David Kugielsky (Savannah College of Art & Design men’s lacrosse) – Kugielsky scored a goal and notched two assists as the Bees upset No. 14 Eckerd, 12-4, back on March 30. Earlier, Kugielsky also scored in a 17-3 win over Kennesaw State.

Pat Coakley (Ohio Wesleyan University baseball) – Coakley has appeared in four games for the 12-8 Bishops, collecting one hit in four trips to the plate while scoring two runs. His only hit was a two-run triple in a 28-3 shellacking of Earlham in the second game of a doubleheader sweep on April 1.

Kim Solheim (Christopher Newport University women’s lacrosse) – The Lady Captains improved to 9-4-0 after wins over Methodist (16-4) and Virginia Wesleyan (15-10). Solheim, a freshman D-wing and center, has appeared in 10 games and registered two shots while scooping four ground balls.

Jenna Van Waalwijk (Muhlenberg College women’s softball) – After a 8-2, 6-4 doubleheader sweep over Franklin & Marshall on April 6, the Lady Mules improved to 6-12 overall, 3-1 in the Centennial Conference. Van Waalwijk had a two-run single in the second game.

Meg Regnery (Sacred Heart University women’s lacrosse) – The Lady Pioneers improved to 4-6-0 with a 13-10 win over Wagner on Thursday, April 5. The win snapped a two-game losing streak.

Christina Wolf (Southern Connecticut State University softball) – Wolf has appeared in 14 games for the 15-8 Lady Owls, starting five. Though she has just two hits in 18 at-bats (.111), one of those hits was a double. In the field, she has registered seven putouts with a pair of assists.
