Frank H. DaSilva, 80, beloved husband of Rosalie DaSilva, died at his home in Fairfield on Easter Sunday, April 8.

In addition to his loving wife of 56 years, Mr DaSilva will be missed by his four adoring children and their families, sons, Eric DaSilva and his wife, Cyndy, of Newtown and Peter DaSilva and his wife, Patricia, of Southport; and daughters, Nancy Gallagher of Westport and Diane DaSilva of Fairfield. He was greatly loved by his grandchildren, Michelle Gallagher, Steven DaSilva, and Lucy Rose DaSilva. He is also survived by two sisters, Irene DePonte and her husband, Matthew, and Martha Morrongiello; and a brother, Eugene DaSilva; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Gloria von Oiste; and one brother Henry DaSilva.

Mr DaSilva was born in New York City on May 24, 1926, son of Henry and Maria Rocha DaSilva. He graduated from City College of New York in 1949 as a mechanical engineer. He faithfully served his country in the United States Navy in World War II and was awarded the Victory Medal and the American Theater Medal. He worked many years as an engineer in the US Manned Aerospace program and retired as manager of engineering at the Northeast Regional Headquarters of the USPS in New York.

Mr DaSilva was a resident of Fairfield for 37 years. He was a choir member of St Pius X Catholic Church for many years and taught religious education for 15 years.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Sloane Kettering Hospital and also to Hospice at Home of Trumbull for their compassionate care.

Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Saturday, April 14, at 11 am, in St Pius X Catholic Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield.
