Dialogue With The Docs:  Cancer Treatment

SOUTHBURY — A free “Dialogue with the Docs” program will take place Tuesday, April 24, at 4 pm, when Dr Orion Howard, director of medical oncology at New Milford Hospital, will speak on “New Approaches to Cancer Treatment: Targeted Therapeutics.”

Dr Howard will provide an overview of progressive new approaches to the treatment of various types of cancer that have evolved from advances in molecular biology. He will explain, in layperson’s terms, how these therapeutic agents operate, their effectiveness and their limitations and side effects. He will also provide information on additional drugs that are “in the pipeline.”

Dr Howard attended Cornell Medical School and trained at Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center. As with all the Dialogue with the Docs programs, there will be plenty of time after Dr Howard’s presentation to ask questions.

The free program is open to the public and is sponsored by Brownstein Jewish Family Service. It will take place at The Walzer Family Jewish Community Campus at 444 Main Street North.
