Medical Town Meetings Focus On Senior Health Issues And Stroke Prevention

DANBURY — Physician and nurse specialists will discuss dementia, osteoarthritis, pneumonia, other age-related illnesses, and available community resources at the next Danbury Hospital Medical Town Meeting, “Gaining Insight Into Aging Health Issues” on Tuesday, May 11, from 7 to 8:30 pm. The program will take place at Danbury Hospital’s auditorium, 24 Hospital Avenue.

Featured speakers will be Juan Pablo Caeiro, MD, director of geriatric and adult medicine at the Seifert & Ford Family Community Health Center, 70 Main Street, Danbury; David Trock, MD, chief of rheumatology at Danbury Hospital, Byron Thomas, MD, an internal medicine specialist at the hospital, and Alice Correira, RN, clinical case coordinator at the Seifert & Ford Family Community Health Center. Patricia Palmer, an advanced practice nurse with the Geriatric Health Center, Seifert & Ford Family Community Health Center, will facilitate the evening program.

A Medical Town Meeting addressing the “Misconceptions and Realities of Stroke” will take place on Tuesday, May 18, from 7 to 8:30 pm, at Danbury Hospital’s auditorium. The featured speaker will be Neil Culligan, MD, chief of neurology at Danbury Hospital. A board-certified neurologist, he will discuss prevention, warning signs, risk factors, and treatment of stroke.

Ample time will be provided for audience questions. Danbury Hospital Medical Town Meetings are free, monthly health and wellness programs open to the public. No RSVP is required. Park free in the Blue Visitor’s Parking Lot, Hospital Avenue entrance.
