Home Educators Host Resource Fair

HARTFORD — The Connecticut Home Educators Association (CHEA) is sponsoring an Educators Resource Fair on Saturday, May 5, from 10 am to 5 pm at the University of Hartford in West Hartford. This fair will provide an opportunity for veteran and potential home educators to survey a variety of products, services, and programs available to them from educational materials suppliers, regional museums, and non-profit institutions. Workshops will be conducted on Connecticut Homeschooling Laws, Beginning Homeschooling, Learning Styles, Unschooling, and College Admissions & Homeschooling, among other topics. Linda Dobson, author of The Art of Education and The Homeschooling Book of Answers, will be keynote speaker.

 Admission for CHEA members is $15 per person or $25 per family. Admission for non-members is $20 per person or $30 per family. Children are welcome, although no babysitting will be provided. The University of Hartford is located at 200 Bloomfield Avenue in West Hartford and the fair will be held in the Student Union Building. Ample free parking will be available. 

 The Connecticut Home Educators Association is a statewide organization which provides support and disseminates information to people interested in homeschooling in Connecticut. The Association is open to anyone regardless of race, color, creed, or religious affiliation.
