Fairfield Offers Four Summer Sessions
FAIRFIELD â This summer Fairfield Universityâs School of Continuing Education is offering four sessions and a wide range of courses, including three online English courses, to help students who are juggling work and family responsibilities. The 135 courses offered this summer are scheduled as daytime or evening four-week sessions or as week-long intensive courses.
The online English courses âComposition & Prose Literatureâ and âIntroduction to Literatureâ (also offered in the traditional, on-campus setting), as well as an online course in âTechnical Writing,â will be offered. Students in the online course will meet at the beginning of the session and then work from their computers at home to complete assignments and communicate with the instructor.
Some of the Arts & Sciences courses this summer will look at the âModernization of China and Japan,â and courses in âAmerica in Film,â âThe Irish Short Story,â âContemporary Moral Problems,â âMedia and Politics,â and âTheories of Personality.â
Among the business offerings is a course on the âPrinciples of International Business,â to be taught by Vincent Short, a visiting professor from England and France. Other business courses include âInternational Management,â âConsumer Behavior,â and âAdvertising and Promotion.â
Several courses in nursing include âHealth Assessment,â âBasic Health Problems,â âHealth Promotion,â and âLeadership & Management in Nursing.â
Non-credit courses are available in computer graphics and interior design, as well as the new âSpectrum Microsoft Training and Certification.â
