Inaugural International Food And Music Festival Coming To Sandy Hook May 10
The World Heritage Cultural Center will present the first International Food and Music Festival on Saturday, May 10, 10 am-8 pm, at the Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue main station, 18-20 Riverside Road.
One of the festival’s highlights will be the distinguished presence of Governor Ned Lamont, who will deliver a proclamation honoring the contributions of WHCC over its 20-year journey. Since 2005, the organization has collaborated with 850 cultural groups, embodying a mission dedicated to celebrating humanity through the arts and culinary experiences while promoting inclusivity and cultural exchange.
The festival promises a thrilling lineup, featuring Jamaican artist Shuga and talented dancers from Connecticut, Baltimore, D.C., Philadelphia, New Jersey, Boston, and New York. Organizers say it will be a wonderful opportunity for residents and visitors alike to come together, enjoy a day filled with entertainment, and celebrate the diverse cultures that enrich our community.
As the 291st festival organized by WHCC in the United States, the IFMF will highlight the cultural richness of 20 diverse groups, providing attendees with the chance to experience artistic expressions from around the world. Broadcasting globally via Awesome TV and with local media coverage, the festival will ensure that the energy and spirit of the event reach a large audience.
