Dr Louise McCullough (Newtown High School class of 1985) and John Couture announce the birth of their son, Max Anthony Couture, on February 5.

Max was nine pounds six ounces and 22 inches long.

He is welcomed by his sister, Lucy Elizabeth Couture, 18 months, and grandparents, Andrew and Wendy McCullough of 20 Aunt Park Lane, Newtown, and Henry and Judy Couture of 24 Birge Road, Bristol.

Dr McCullough is a stroke physician and researcher at Johns Hopkins Hospital; Mr Couture is a sports psychologist with the Cleveland Indians.

Thomas and Penny Tavar of Newtown announce the birth of a daughter, Alexia Maria Tavar, on April 5 at Danbury Hospital.
