Janice Paula Ryan of Danbury died unexpectedly on April 7, after a brief illness. She was born in London, the daughter of the late Rose and Geoffrey John Lyons.

She left London after finishing school and, although she loved her new country, she always remembered where her home was. She settled in Newtown to raise her four children and later worked in nursing for many years.

Many will fondly remember Ms Ryan's annual family reunions in Florida, where she served as mistress of ceremonies ensuring everyone, from many countries, had the best vacation ever.

Her children and their spouses, Steve and Karen Marron of Newtown, Paul and Karen Marron of Florida, Larry Marron of New Mexico, and Sheryl and Joe Patten of Derby; her grandchildren, Chrysta, Richard, Paul, Ryan, Ashley, Justin, and Jessica; her three sisters, Maureen Cekez of Bosnia, Geraldine Gartshore of Oxfordshire, and Sandra Weigold and her husband, Jim, from England; as well as great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews survive her. Her son Keith, her first husband, Richard Marron, and her daughter-in-law Nancy Marron predeceased her.

Much love to many including her second husband, David Ryan, and her longtime partner, and friend to the end, her beloved James Newkirk.

At her request there are no calling hours.

There will be a private celebration of Ms Ryan's life at the convenience of her family.

In lieu of contributions to her memory, Ms Ryan would want everyone to enjoy today and share their time and love with family, as she always did, or to make a donation to a charity of one's choice.
