Main Street

Police said they stopped motorist Gary Fetzer, 52, of 18 Sugar Street at about 8:51 pm on April 6 near 45 Main Street to investigate an apparent motor vehicle violation.

Police said that after investigating they charged Fetzer with failure to have functioning tail lamps and with driving while under suspension. Police released him on a written promise to appear in court on April 22.

Criminal Mischief

Sometime between March 15 and April 2, someone pulled some slat boards off the exterior of a barn/garage on Washington Avenue, near Washington Avenue’s intersection with Pearl Street, in Sandy Hook, police said. Police are investigating the case of third-degree criminal mischief. Anyone with information on the crime is asked to contact police Officer John McCluskey at 426-5841.

Chrysler Vs Ford

Police report a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Wasserman Way and Berkshire Road in Sandy Hook about 3 pm April 2.

Motorist Kevin Danielson, 42, of Naugatuck, who was driving a 2003 Ford Explorer eastward on Wassermann Way, was attempting to make a right turn onto Berkshire Road when the Ford was struck from behind by motorist Robert Weiner of Southbury, who was driving a 1998 Chrysler Sebring, police said.

There were no injuries. Weiner was verbally warned for following too closely, police said.
