CCA Planning Show And Sale
DANBURY â The Connecticut Clay Artists (CCA), a group of 13 professional potters and artists from Fairfield County, will hold a show and sale at the old Rubenâs store, at 3 Sugar Hollow Road (located between Marcus Dairy and Pier 1 Imports). Show hours are 10 am to 4 pm each day.
CCA work includes professionally handbuilt, wheel thrown and sculpted art made from stoneware, porcelain and earthenware. The clay is fired in electric, wood, gas and Raku kilns. Pieces are both functional and decorative.
A signature of CCA is their frequent collaborative artwork, done during their monthly workshops. The group has become famous for its team teapots and other cooperative creations including ceramic heads, âmachines,â and birdhouses.
The spring sale will be held for five consecutive weekend days: Saturdays and Sundays, April 26 and 27, May 3 and 4, and May 10. In addition to show-quality ceramics objects, there will be a seconds section, which has proved to be extremely popular at past sales.
Members of Connecticut Clay Artists (CCA) include Stephen Becroft (Ridgefield), Monique Brooks (Greenwich), Paula Cook (Ridgefield), Sue Ann Heller (Fairfield), Beth Herod (Stamford), Katie Tynan Helu (Ridgefield), Sarah Koster (Norwalk), Rosalind Liljengren (Newtown), Annette Morasco Marcus (Brookfield), Paula Sibrack Marian (Sherman), Hannes Overgard (Wilton), Karen Pinto (Newtown) and Peggy Thomas (Ridgefield).
