SCAN Art Workshops For Spring

The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) is offering a number of workshops this season, and participation is open to anyone with an interest in art. Membership in SCAN is not mandatory.

All workshops meet at Newtown Meeting House, at 31 Main Street/Route 25 (at the flagpole) in Newtown, and run from 9 am to 4 pm. The cost of each workshop is $45.

To reserve a place in a workshop checks should be made payable to SCAN and mailed to Nancy Warwick, 48 Warwick Road, New Fairfield, CT 06812. Include a telephone number for confirmation, and note on the check’s memo line which workshop you are interested in.

The spring schedule continues as follows: Saturday, April 19, “Techniques in Watercolor” by Nancy Warwick, beginners are welcome; Saturday, May 17, “Acrylic or Oil Over Acrylic” by Anda Styler; Wednesday, May 21, “Drawing in Pencil/Charcoal” by Laura McCormick; Saturday, May 31, “Landscape in Pencil or Oil” by Alain Picard; and on Saturday, June 21, Frank Federico will lead an outdoor workshop using watercolors at a location to be determined.

Any cancellations that are called in less than ten days before a scheduled workshop will be refunded only if workshop expenses are met.
