Occupation: I have been one of the owners of Caminuccio’s Pizza for the past four years. I’m a lawyer as well. I practiced law for nine years, doing mostly civil stuff, in Hamden. I was a silent partner here at first. Then one day I said I’d like to change my occupation. This business is a breath of fresh air for me, a welcome change. I earned my bachelor’s from Providence College in 1988 and my law degree in 1992 from the University of Bridgeport School of Law, which is now Quinnipiac Law School.

How Long in Newtown: I have worked in Newtown for four years. It’s been very enjoyable. The people here are terrific. We’ve been very lucky. I live in Orange, where I grew up, and also lived in Hamden for a while.

Biggest Change You Have Seen in Town: I’ve only worked here for four years, but it seems like the town continues to grow and prosper.

Family: My wife Stephanie and I will be married nine years in August. We have two sons, David, Jr, 4½, and Ryan Clare, 2½.

Pets: We have two cats, Cubby and Pepper.

Hobbies: I’m a big golfer. I play as much as I can at Oak Lane Country Club in Woodbridge. I also spend as much time with the kids as I can. I also collect 1940s and 1950s comic books.

Favorite Books and Authors: I read a lot of trade-related periodicals and hobby-related magazines.

Favorite TV Show: I watch a lot of sports and the news. I also do watch some of the reality shows, such as Survivor.

Organizations: The Connecticut Bar Association, Newtown Chamber of Commerce, and the American Restaurant Association. I was previously a member of several committees at the country club and once was the head of the rules committee.

Most Vivid Memory About Newtown: The thing that sticks in my mind the most is the kind people here. The people have welcomed us with open arms. They are very friendly, open, and generous. We are very involved in donations that are community related, such as for the schools and Family Counseling Center. We sponsor a Little League team. We’re good to the people who have been good to us. We believe in giving back to the community.

Favorite Vacation Spot: My wife and I fell in love with the island of Moorea in the Tahitian Islands. I also love to go to Myrtle Beach and all the golf destinations.

Personal Philosophy: My basic philosophy is that you get out of life what you put in. If you work hard, and you’re fair to people, it will come back to you. I believe in being pretty open with people. I like to tell it like it is, and know where you stand. You can sleep easier at night knowing you’re not holding anything back.
