MIDDLETOWN – Maggie Hemingway, Jen Iassogna, Matt Iassogna and Stefan Toi excelled for the Connecticut Splash at the Connecticut Regional and State Championship swim meets.

“These meets were a great ending to a very successful season full of fun and hard work,” said coach Al Dodson. “These four swimmers progressed amazingly ell throughout the season. What makes it even more exciting is that they all have another full year in their present age group.”

At the Regional Championships at Southern Connecticut State University, Hemingway finished first in the 50 freestyle, 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke and third in the 100 and 500 freestyle.

Jen Iassogna was second in the 200 butterfly, sixth in the 100 butterfly, and 12th in the 100 backstroke. Matt Iassogna, now swimming up an age group, was fourth in the 50 butterfly and eighth in the 50 backstroke. And Toi was second in the 100 butterfly, third in the 100 freestyle, fourth in the 200 individual medley and fifth in the 50 freestyle, 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle.

At the State Championships, Hemingway was 13th in the 100 backstroke, 15th in the 50 freestyle, and was part of the 11th-place 200 medley relay, 15th-place 200 freestyle relay, and 15th-place 400 freestyle relay. Toi was 13th in the 100 breaststroke and 16th in the 200 breaststroke. And Jen Iassogna was part of the 11th-place medley relay, 15th-place 200 freestyle relay and 15th-place freestyle relay.
