Erica Carino canned 12 points while Sarah Holroyd and Kate Fenton added eight points apiece to lead the Boomshakalakas to a 37-31 win over the Flipmode Squad in the championship game of the Parks and Recreation Senior Girls Basketball League.

Megan Rawson had five steals to spark the defense.
âWe are the champions!â exclaimed the âShakalakas. âDonât mess with the best!â
Alli Smith led the Flipmode Squad on the offensive end of the floor while Katie Lahey, Stacey Gordon and Mandy Black played well. The captains said, âWe gave it our all and even though we didnât win, we still had fun and had a great season.â
The Boomshakalakas reached the finals with a 34-29 win over the Hot Shots as Fenton popped in 10 points and Kelly Collier added seven. Steph Prorock had six assists while Carino made eight steals and Liz Krohn grabbed 11 rebounds.
For the Hot Shots, Kyle Paynter and Katie Kilroy combined for 15 points as Jenna Zigman was strong off the glass.
The Flipmode Squad reached the finals with a 44-29 win over the Nailbreakers. Amanda Molden canned 12 points for the Squad while Rachel Eastman had 13 and Kristen McGrath had 10 for the âBreakers. Lindsay Weber and Alex Helfer also played well in the loss.
In early-round playoff action, the Nailbreakers advanced with a 35-33 win over the Dynasties. McGrath had 12 points and Eastman had nine while Jackie Ercole grabbed nine rebounds. Katie DiSimone and Helfer played well. For the Dynasties, Diana Grimaldi canned 12 points and Julie Nietsch chipped in with six. Kim Solheim and Christie Zingoni played well.
And the Hot Shots crushed Murder, Inc., 62-33, as Kilroy poured in 21 points and Kari Frawley added 14. Monica Cluff and Zigman both played well for the Shots. For Murder, Inc., Erin Saunders and Megan LaFlamme canned 11 points apiece as Caitlyn Lynch had nine assists. Alli Frobey had a fine defensive game.
