Occupation: I own Pootatuck Chimney Service and Sandy Hook Cyclery, in Sandy Hook Center. I’m a music promoter in Newtown, too, for groups like Flood Wood, Lez Zeppelin, and Cedric Bernside, in small venues.

Family: I’ve been married to Christine for 18 years. We have three kids. Aidan is 15, John Patrick Aloysius is 13, and Madeline. She’s 7 years old.

Pets: We have two cats and two dogs. The dogs are both rescues, Ralph and Walter. They are on the most wanted dog list by the Newtown Pound. Ralph is a wanderer…

How long have you lived in Sandy Hook? We moved here in 1997, from Black Rock.

What do you like to do in your free time? I like to play and write music, and I like to ride bicycles. We need to become more bike friendly here. I’m mainly a guitarist, but I play a few instruments.

What music are you listening to now? Funk — bands like Sons of Funk, Rico Lewis, and Parliament-Funkadelic.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? Somewhere new. Every few years, we change things up. Most recently, we went up to Lake Placid, N.Y. We’ve been to Cape Cod, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire. Mostly our trips are in the tri-state area, because of the kids’ schedules. We do have a Colorado trip coming up, where I used to live.

What is the best thing about Newtown? It’s not the transfer station! It’s the amount of natural resources it has — two state forests, a state park, and the open spaces. For being in Fairfield County, Newtown has got the most. No other town has a 12-mile trail that goes through the town, like Al’s Trail.

Who has been the greatest influence in your life? My family. Growing up as one of seven is what shaped me.

Growing up, what was your favorite toy? Hot Wheels. We had a few. We used to make a big track for them.

Do you have a guilty pleasure? Craft beers. Right now, I’m liking some of the Vermont microbreweries, like Lawson’s and Hill Farmstead.
