Reconsider A Rash Decision
Reconsider A Rash Decision
To the Editor:
I am writing this letter to express my severe disappointment in the matter regarding the termination of Carolee Mason as animal control officer for Newtown. My family and I have lived in Newtown for over 30 years and have nothing but positive things to say about the job Mrs Mason has done for the town.
I live in the Borough of Newtown and I do not own a pet. I have had, however, many dogs and cats come to my door that were lost and could not find their way home to their families. I have reached out to Mrs Mason several times for support and she has always responded quickly and swiftly to return these animals to their owners. I regret Newtownâs decision to terminate Mrs Mason, as I am confident that all of her decisions have been based on a strong desire to protect the rights of all animals and to keep the pets of families in Newtown safe. I assure you that nobody has put the level of effort and determination into this job that Mrs Mason has over the past few years. I am hopeful that the town will reconsider their rash decision made without the input of the people who pay all of their salaries!
Sincerely,
Margaret Schalkham
