How To Deer-Proof Your Garden
How To
Deer-Proof
Your Garden
Newtown resident Brid Craddock knows all about keeping deer out of a garden. She and husband Harvey Pressin have been doing their best to keep the forest animals out of the gardens they have been cultivating, and have had success thanks to their plant selections and other decisions.
On Saturday, April 18, Newtown Conservation Commission will sponsor âProtect Your Garden From Deer Browse Damage,â a free presentation by Ms Craddock. The program will be offered at C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street, from 2 to 4 pm.
The workshop is open to the public and will cover working with deer resistant plants, identifying which critter is munching on your plants, and keeping deer out of yards.
Ms Craddock, of Growing Solutions, LLC in Ridgefield, is a master gardener, landscape designer, the owner of Heirloom Gardens in Newtown, and president of the recently formed Connecticut chapter of The Association of Professional Landscape Designers.
