Botsford Accident

A two-vehicle accident occurred on South Main Street at its intersection with Meadowbrook Road about 2:05 pm March 31.

Motorist Rossanne Hermenze, 44, of Redding was driving a 2006 Chevrolet K-1500 pickup truck southward on South Main Street, police said. Motorist Michael Damon, 29, of Medway, Mass., was driving a 2008 Infiniti M-35 sedan southward behind the Chevrolet, police said.

The Chevrolet then attempted to make a right turn onto Meadowbrook Road and the Infiniti attempted to pass the Chevrolet on the right, resulting in a collision, police said.

Ambulance volunteers went to the scene in response to a pain complaint from Hermenze, police said. Police issued Damon an infraction for passing on the right.

About 9:30 am April 2, motorist Roxana Madar, 34, of 35 Jeremiah Road, who was driving a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder SUV southward on Pole Bridge Road, stopped for a stop sign at that street’s intersection with Berkshire Road, police report.

The Nissan then began entering Berkshire Road, but stopped for an emergency vehicle that was traveling on Berkshire Road, police said.

Motorist William Boyd, 61, of 39 Engleside Terrace, who was driving a 1991 Honda Accord sedan southward on Pole Bridge Road, then struck the rear end of the Nissan, police said.

There were no injuries. Police said they issued Boyd a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

Trespassing

Police said that at about 5:15 pm on April 5, motorcyclists Jeffrey Hanna, 24, of Sandy Hook, and Morgan Mayes, 23, of Brookfield, each received infraction tickets on a charge of simple trespassing because they were riding motorcycles on the D’Addario Sand & Stone Company, Inc, sand and gravel mine at 9 Button Shop Road. The surface mine is private property, police said.

Warrant

After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Adam Samuels, 26, of 128 Hanover Road went to the police station on the afternoon of April 4 and was charged with evading responsibility and with making a restricted turn, police report.

Police said the charges stem from an incident late on the night of February 19, in which Samuels was driving a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV near the intersection of Pine Street and Buttonball Drive, when he collided with a parked, unoccupied 2008 Chevrolet Malibu sedan and then left the scene of the accident.

Police said they released Samuels on a written promise to appear April 20 in Danbury Superior Court.

Police said they charged Eriquez with second-degree failure to appear in court and also with sale of liquor to a minor or procuring liquor for a minor.

Police said the liquor charge stems from an incident last September 20 at a commercial parking lot at 6 Queen Street in which Eriquez allegedly placed some alcohol into the motor vehicle of a minor.

The minor then received an infraction ticket for possession of alcohol by a minor, police have said.

After he posted $500 bail on April 2, police released Eriquez for an April 16 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

Police said the Ford then attempted to pass the Volkswagen on the right, but the Ford’s left exterior rear-view mirror hit the Volkswagen’s right exterior rear-view mirror. There were no injuries.

Police said they verbally warned Goncalves for passing on the right.

Also, police issued both Goncalves and Devellis infractions for failure to carry an automotive insurance identification card.
