Dining To Raise Money For Workcamp 2009

Roberto’s Restaurant on Main Street in Monroe was full of diners last Saturday morning who were waiting to be served by one of the 29 teenagers in the workcamp group associated with Newtown Congregational Church, St Rose Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Newtown United Methodist Church.

Tables at the breakfast were paid for by sponsors, and the workcampers served the tables of their friends and family. The event also had a raffle and entertainment provided by the workcampers. The students in this year’s workcamp will be traveling to Oakland, Md., on a mission trip. Money raised by the breakfast will go toward their trip.  

Anyone who wishes to contribute to the Workcamp 2009 trip can make checks payable to the churches involved, with the memo mentioning Workcamp 2009.
