Diabetes Educator, Dietitian Speaks Out About Dining Out
DANBURY â The Diabetes Club of Danbury, a support group for people with diabetes, their families and friends, features a series of guest speaker programs and special presentations dedicated to discussions about living well with diabetes.
The next meeting takes place on Monday, April 20, from 7:30 to 9 pm, at Danbury Hospital in the John C. Creasy Center for Health Education auditorium. Park free in the Blue Visitorâs Parking lot located on Hospital Avenue.
The featured speaker will be Linda Martinez, RD, CDE, a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator at The Endocrine and Diabetes Center of Western Connecticut. located on Germantown Road in Danbury. She will instruct participants on how to select and make the best food choices when dining out and preparing meals at home.
The Diabetes Club of Danbury meets at Danbury Hospital on the third Monday during the months of March, April, May, September and October.
âThe goal of the free diabetes education program is to provide continuous up-to-date information and education regarding the day-to-day management of diabetes,â said Dr Robert Ruxin, certified diabetes educator and medical director of The Diabetes Club of Danbury.
