Deeply Disappointed

I am writing to express my concern over the town’s decision to terminate the employment of Mrs Mason as Newtown’s animal control officer. I have a vested interest in this decision, as I lived in town for more than 35 years and have been a dog owner the entire time.

I hold Mrs Mason in high regard for the job that she does and for the time she has taken to help me and others in town with our animals.  If you love your pets the way we do, and consider them to be part of the family, it is nice to know that someone like Mrs Mason was on the other end of the line when they went missing from time to time. Furthermore, I attended fundraisers for the new dog pound and was always so impressed to see Mrs Mason and her entire family participating in the event and doing what they could to support the initiative.

I am deeply disappointed in the way her termination was handled. I would have thought that someone who put so much effort into doing something she loved would have been shown more respect, or at the very least, given a second chance.
