Weekend Classes At IAIS
WASHINGTON â The Institute for American Indian Studies will present two classes on Saturday, April 20. The museum is at 38 Curtis Road.
A writing class called âWriting, Creativity, and Ritual, Fiction Writing, and the Journey Inwardâ with author Emily Hanlon is scheduled for 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. Pre-registration is required, and the class is worth 0.6 CEUs to Connecticut educators.
Ms Hanlon the author of eight books of fiction. Her latest book, The Art of Fiction Writing or How to Fall Down the Rabbit Hole Without Really Trying, is based on her 22 years of teaching creative writing and leading writers of all levels on the journey of creativity. Ms Hanlon has presented her courses nationally and internationally. She also teaches at the International Womenâs Writing Guild Conference at Skidmore College and was a founding member of the National Writers Union.

The second April 21 event will be the quarterly native plant studies certificate course âSpring Wild Edibles: Identification & Gourmet Preparations.â The class will also meet from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm and will be presented by the noted author of 19 books and ethnobotanist/IAIS research associate E. Barrie Kavasch.
