Hospital To Host Program On Pain Management
DANBURY â Danbury Hospitalâs Pain Initiative will host a pain education program on Wednesday, April 25, from 9 to 11 am, at Danbury Hospitalâs auditorium, 24 Hospital Avenue.
The program features a nationally known speaker on pain management in the health care setting. The speaker, Carol P. Curtiss, RN, MSN, is a clinical nurse specialist consultant at Curtiss Consulting, Greenfield, Mass., and adjunct faculty at the University of Massachusetts School of Nursing, Amherst, Mass. She will address âCurrent Trends in Pain Management.â
Visitors can park free in the hospitalâs blue parking lot located on Hospital Avenue.
The morning program is geared toward health care professionals, and includes discussion on clinical improvements and insight into national trends and standards in pain management. The program is sponsored in part by Purdue Pharmaceuticals.
Ms Curtiss earned her nursing diploma from Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing and a bachelor of science in human services from American International College, Springfield, Mass. She also attained a master of science degree in nursing with a clinical specialty in cancer nursing from Yale University. Ms Curtiss is the author of numerous publications addressing pain management in various nursing and health care publications.
