Teen Center Event

Was Age Appropriate

 This is in response to the letter written by Joanne Barnhart in the April 2 Bee. First of all, I am not sure why she is trying to connect the March 12 Teen Center event with such things as kids drinking beer, wearing inappropriate clothes, dating too young etc...

My son was in the band at the Teen Center that night. The band consisted of three high schoolers and one student from the Reed School. The event was for Reed School and Middle School only, so, no high schoolers were invited to attend. Therefore, the 10- and 11- year-olds were not socializing with high schoolers. Most of the kids there that night were from the Reed School and had a great time. I would encourage Mrs Barnhart to call for information on these Teen Center events before she jumps to incorrect conclusions.
