Robert E. Clark

Robert E. “Bob” Clark, 78, of Bethel, died April 7 at Filosa Convalescent Center, Danbury. He was the husband of the late Mary Jane (Bernardo) Clark and the father of Maryjane Clark of Newtown.

Mr Clark was born November 3, 1925, in Stamford, the son of the late Walter and Ellen (Wilson) Clark. Raised and educated in Stamford, he was a US Army veteran of WWII, and was a Purple Heart recipient for injuries suffered in the European Theater campaign.

Mr Clark is also survived by daughters Donna Clark-Selleck of Bethel and Dawn Clark-Finn of Lakeside; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a printer by trade for many years, and was last employed with Danbury Printing and Litho, retiring in the late 1980s.

A resident of Bethel since 1960, he was a parishioner of St Mary Church, and was an active volunteer for many years with the Bethel Recreation Association. Prior to this illness, he also volunteered at the Filosa Convalescent Center, Danbury.

The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Avenue, Bethel, on Friday, April 9, from 7 to 9 pm.

Burial in St Mary Cemetery, Bethel, will be private.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Volunteer Ambulance Company, 36 South Street, Bethel CT 06801.
