James P. Miller

James P. Miller, 91, of Newtown, died April 7 at the Filosa Convalescent Home in Danbury. He was the husband of Eleanor M. (Bradley) Miller.

Mr Miller was born November 20, 1912, in Norwalk, son of the late Jacob and Alice (McNamara) Miller. Mr Miller worked for CL&P for 38 years, retiring in 1977 as a service manager. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving with the 33rd Sea Bee Battalion. He was a 30-year member of the Newtown Country Club and an avid golfer.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, James P. Miller, Jr, and his wife Brenda of Newtown; a daughter, Linda M. Haggerty and her husband William of Newtown; five grandchildren, Katie and Matthew Miller, Stacy Sousa, Kimberly Roy, and Kristin Haggerty.

A memorial service will be held Friday, April 16, at 4 pm, at the Trinity Church, 36 Main Street, Newtown. Burial will be private.

The Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main Street North, is in charge of arrangements.
