Maundy Thursday service will be April 8 in the sanctuary. The Adult Choir will sing “It is Midnight.” Good Friday, April 9, the sanctuary will be open all day for quiet time and reflection and there will be a service at 7:30 that evening, “Last Seven Words of Christ,” in the sanctuary for prayers and meditation. Easter Sunday services begin at 6 am on the top of Castle Hill with special music by Carl Lindquist and Mary Andreotta. All-church worship services in the sanctuary will be at 9 and 11 am with the Rev Steven Gordon, senior minister, preaching and the Rev Janice Touloukian, associate minister, assisting and giving the Children’s Message. The adult choir will be singing an introit, “Christus Resuerexit,” and an anthem, “Awake Thou That Sleepeth,” for both services. Phil Crevier will be playing.

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Danbury holds two Sunday Services, at 9 and 11 am, in Alumni Hall on the campus of Western Connecticut State University. On Sunday, April 11, Rev Linda Hansen and Mary Collins, director of religious education, will lead “I Wish I Knew How.” “One of the hymns begins ‘I wish I knew how it would feel to be free.’ In this intergenerational service that falls during Passover week and on Easter Sunday, we’ll explore the wish to be free through many stories. Children and adults will be asked to share their stories of trying to be freer or helping others to be so. Please note that there are no Religious Education classes today, although nursery care for infants and toddlers is available. It is hoped that the children and youth will participate in the service.
