A Spectacular Performance
A Spectacular Performance
To the Editor:
On Thursday evening, I brought my 10-year-old daughter to see my all time favorite musical, Les Miserables, at the high school. To say I was blown away was an understatement!
Having seen it on Broadway numerous times, and having never been to a Newtown High performance, I expected a âhigh schoolâ version, I never expected to see a performance as good, if not better, than I have seen on Broadway over the years. I have to congratulate everyone involved, from the megatalented cast, to all the people behind the scenes, who all must have worked countless numbers of hours to pull off such a spectacular, professional, emotional, and incredible performance. I was truly amazed. I left the auditorium that night feeling so proud of the young adults who performed and who worked behind the scenes (none of whom I personally know), but more so, proud of a town and a school system that can bring children through with such dedication and enthusiasm to put together such a spectacular evening.
We hear so much about the negatives with our town and school system, itâs about time we start reflecting more about the positives. I am excited that my children, now in elementary schools, will have the opportunity to be a part of this truly special educational system.
Sincerely,
Karen Bauer
