Therese Hychko
Therese Hychko, 45, of 4 Cottonwood Trail, Newtown, died April 7 at her home after a long illness.
Miss Hychko was born February 3, 1956, in Waterbury, a daughter of John and Marie (Ferrucci) Hychko. She attended Sprague Grammar School and was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School class of 1974. She was director of day care for the Merry Hill Day Care Center in Newtown. She was an avid gardener and animal lover, Brownies counselor, and an EMT with the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance. She was a communicant of St Margaret Church.
Besides her parents, she leaves six brothers, John Hychko of Waterbury, David Hychko of Thomaston, Gary Hychko, Louis Hychko, Paul Hychko, and Michael Hychko, all of Waterbury; two sisters, Lisa Guisto of Waterbury and Michelle Brady of Thomaston; her longtime companion, William Halstead, with whom she made her home; and several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held on April 9 from the Maiorano Funeral Home, Inc., 95 Willow Street, Waterbury, to St Margaret Church for a Mass. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
