Hawley Reading Event Promotes Book Fair

Hawley Elementary School music teacher Brian Kowalsky read The Day The Crayons Came Home by author Drew Daywalt on Wednesday, March 23, to a group of students after school.The Sandlot screened at the school while the book fair was held.

The reading event was held to promote the school's book fair, overseen by PTA co-chairs Susan Burbank and Jeni Walker.

The Scholastic Book Fair ran from March 17 to 24.

A movie night was also held on Friday, March 18, to help promote the book fair, with the 1993 movie

As Mr Kowalsky entered the school's multipurpose room, where the book fair took place, on Wednesday, students began to enthusiastically greet him.

The reading event was open to all students at the school, and Daisy Troop 51114 had a number of Girl Scouts in attendance.
