Theresa Marie Bleeks Block

Theresa Marie Bleeks Block, of Monroe, died April 4, at the Richard L. Rosenthal Hospice Residence, with her husband, Daniel Block, and family by her side. She was born in Norwalk, the daughter of Theresa and Ralph Bleeks.

Mrs Block was a second grade Hebrew teacher at Adath Israel Synagogue in Newtown, and a sixth grade math teacher at Roton Middle School in Norwalk.

She received her bachelor and master’s degrees in education from Sacred Heart University, where she was working on her PhD.

Two sons, USMC Lance Corporal Ralph Nikko Confortinti and Jake Benjamin Block survive her, as do two sisters, and three step-daughters, Sarah, Amanda, and Jessica.

Her passion was working with children to aid them in reaching their full potential.

Services took place April 6, with interment at Cutlers Farm Cemetery in Monroe. Shiva will be observed Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 6 to 8 pm.

Memorial donations may be made to the Richard L. Rosenthal Hospice Residence, 100 Shelburne Road, Stamford CT 06902.

Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Road in Fairfield, is in charge of arrangements.
