Lauren Makes A Gift To Locks Of LoveÂ
Lauren Frazzetta, 9, donated her ten-inch-long ponytail to Locks of Love on Friday, March 25.
Locks of Love is a nonprofit organization and makes a donates hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children 18 years and under who are suffering from long-term medically caused hair loss. The prostheses help to restore self-esteem and confidence.
Laurenâs hair was cut at a New Beginning hair salon in Bethel.
Lauren said she was inspired by her friends Jessica and Chloe Amante, and her cousin, Caitlyn VanEtten, who each donated their hair to Locks of Love not too long ago. Lauren has been growing her hair for almost three years and decided Locks of Love was a very worthy cause.
Lauren loves to wear her hair in a ponytail and was a little anxious about her hair being too short after the cut, but decided it would be well worth it.
âJust because I may not end up with exactly what I want [in terms of hair length]), doesnât mean they [the Locks of Love recipient] shouldnât have what they need,â Lauren said.
Lauren, a student in Mrs Gramoliniâs fourth grade class at Sandy Hook Elementary School, is the daughter of John and Diane Frazzetta. Needless to say, her parents are very proud of her and think she looks beautiful with long or short hair, ponytail or not. Â As it turns out, her hair is still just long enough for a ponytail!
