Albert J. Robichaud

Albert J. Robichaud, 56, Torrington, died April 3 at Hartford Hospital. Mr Robichaud was a Newtown resident for many years before moving to Torrington.

Born January 12, 1949, in Nova Scotia, Canada, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Deveau) Robichaud. He was employed by Baskin Robbins as a truck driver. He served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Honorably discharged during October of 1973, he was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, two overseas bars, and Sharpshooter M-14.

He is survived by three daughters, Stacey Robichaud of Torrington, Alyson Robichaud of Thomaston, and Sara Robichaud of Torrington; one brother, Anthony Robichaud of Santa Barbara, Calif.; three sisters, Lucy Pannone of Wallingford, Theresa Priore of Long Island, and Emily Robichaud of Salt Lake City, Utah; one grandson, Seth Robichaud of Torrington; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 9, at 9:30 am, from The LaPorta-Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield Street, Torrington, to St Francis Church, Main Street, Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in St Francis New Cemetery with full military honors.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 8, from 7 to 9 pm at The LaPorta-Cook Funeral Home.
